Birthday #3! Sweet Celebrations!

The morning of her birthday 4-20-09 ~ Barely awake!

I'm not Gracie and I'm so thankful & overjoyed with all the fun we've had celebrating her being 3 with such sweet friends & family. She had an awesome time! I feel so blessed with all the friends He's placed in her life & mine. :)
On her actual birthday we had a tea party celebration with her friends in our playgroup. This turned out to be fantastic...the girls looked so sweet in their dresses sitting around the table, holding their tea cups, pouring (spilling) their water & eating their little treats. They are all so precious.
All dressed up & ready for a tea party!

Waiting for friends to arrive

Ella, Gracie & Claire - sweet girls

Monkey

Of course had to bring Wall E into the party

Then the Wall E party! Wow!
Here's Wall E with his plant & trash he makes (Rice Krispies w/chocolate chips) It was so fun, everyone was asking "may I have some more trash please!"

She wasn't excited about him or anything. (If you see Wall E's head is tilting backwards, it was so windy at the lake, the wind was blowing him back, WHOA WALL E!)

Gracie & Ella catching up - they are so cute together now, Ella used to try & boss Gracie & Gracie would throw herself on the floor, now they whisper to each other & giggle, it's so sweet

"I'm frwee!"

Nonsense!

So a few new phrases around the Field house from Miss Gracie...

"Nonsense!" ~ not sure where she picked it up, but she tries to use it however she sees fit lately & it's hilarious.

"How do you do?" ~ We were at a party store & she saw a top hat, put it on & said "how do you do?" Where did she learn that?

My favorite ~ On her birthday we went to Publix & kids get a free cookie, she eyed the donuts & said "I want a donut." Okay, great, you can have a donut, which one do you want? There are pretty sparkle ones & chocolate ones...she says "I want a CLEAN donut, mommy!" "A CLEAN donut?" Thinking I must not have heard her right. No, she did, she said repeated a few more times, "I want a CLEAN donut!" So I pointed to the plain glazed ones & yep, she wanted a PLAIN (CLEAN) donut! So cute.

"I'M FIRST!!" I don't know where she picked this up either, but now she's in competition with even me & wants to do things first. "I'll do it FIRST."

"I'm doing something, mommy!" "I'm doing something, daddy!" Very serious, brows furrowed in concentration.

We went to the grocery store today (4-23-09) I was holding her in Joann & she demanded "Let me down, LADY!" Oh no she didn't! She was mad because after we went to the restroom, she was mad that I went first, then argued with me that she went first and I said, no you went 2nd, "no I went FIRST!"
Then we ran in Publix real quick & she wouldn't sit in her cart, she grabbed one of the dividers at the check out & she was playing tug of war with me with it & wouldn't let it go. So needless to say she got a spanking at the car for fighting with me & not obeying. Is this a taste of 3? Because I swear it's like a light went off the day after she turned 3 & it's been a bit of a war with her. If you just read this, please pray for me or her, or both of us! :)
She really is a sweet, funny little thing, but this attitude has got to be nipped in the bud, I want a sweet teenager, I know it's possible!! With God it's possible!!

Happy Birthday, Gracie!

WOW! You are 3!! I can't wrap my mind around it. For so long when people ask how old you are and I say 2, they gasp, wow, I thought she was 3! No, she's 2. :) So then I started saying, almost 3. Well now the day has come, you ARE 3 and what an amazing little girl you are. I wish I would've said 2 more often. Today we celebrated your last day of being 2 at Sea World. What an adventure you had.

You love the little things, you'd want to stop & see every lizard along the sidewalk & you'd get so excited to chase the little birds looking for food people dropped. Your favorite was the dolphins, that was mine, too!

(you watching the dolphins swim from above)
You remind me of a dolphin, as I watched them today, they are so very playful, energetic, fun & sweet. All dolphins have smiles on their faces, like this one, that we saw swimming today.

They were amazing to watch, they circled their noses in the water to make rings, & then they'd bob the water rings with the end of their nose, every time they hit it, the ring got smaller & smaller & then when it got to be a baby sized ring they'd eat it! WHAT?! Incredible, never saw anything like it & never knew they did that, how did they figure that out? God's creatures are amazing. Very inventive. You are amazing, and also very inventive with the way you do things. I love watching you paint, or play kitchen. Or how every time we go grocery shopping you always find items to stack as high as you can, or you line them up in rows or circles in the floor. Last week it was peanut butter, the week before it was some sort of spray cleaner. I let you do it because it's so hilarious to me to watch, you are very meticulous & really concentrate. everyone that passes by stops & gets entertained, you put a smile on their face. You got your first job offer at Publix when I made you put back all these cups one day!
After you were born, every day at 11:07am I'd imagine you coming into the world all over again for months. What an incredible day. But the days since then just get sweeter. God gave your dad and I such an amazing gift. You have your dad's playful sense of humor & my goofball silly behavior. You love animals, just can't get enough puppies & kitties. You & Shelby get along really well now, she gets so excited to come wake you up from your nap, her little tail wagging & you giggle & say "Shelby girl!"
I took this photo of you last night, as I watched you sleep I got scared. You are really growing up, and you don't come with instructions! Haha :)

You are a true joy, full of life & laughter, I pray your playful, sweet, silly spirit stays your whole life, it's contagious.
Happy Birthday, sweet girl! We love you!
Love,
Mommy & Daddy

He He...that was fun!

Spaceship vs Lips?

Okay, so I WISH I had a video camera on my head to catch moments like these. I was getting ready in the morning & had the pool door open so Gracie & Shelby could go outside. Gracie says "mommy, the spaceship is going to take off! You wanna see it? COME ON! You're gonna miss it! COME ON! The spaceship is coming!" So I go outside as I'm putting on makeup because I'm in a hurry but want to check things out, don't wanna miss the shuttle! So I play along "WOW! There it is! I see it, do you see it? Where's it going?" "TO the park!" she says, "come on, let's go see it in the front, we're gonna miss it!" Then,...."WAIT! I need lips!"
No joke, hault for lip gloss. In the midst of ALL the panic & seeing her pretend space shuttle, Gracie breaks for lip gloss? She walks over, grabs my gloss and patiently, carefully, like she's got all the time in the world, to put her lips on!
"There," she says, "all better, LET's GO see it!"
