Zachary's Birthday!

Zachary William Field
Feb 21st 2010 at 4:18am ~ 8lbs 5oz ~ 20.5 inches
Here he is! His arrival was so mellow. At 4am everyone is pretty quiet...except for his sweet little cry!

The nurse had some work to do, because the labor went so fast, he was filled with fluid & as she was suctioning it out, he was sucking it back in, she couldn't believe it! I was a little let down that I wasn't able to hold him right away like I was with Gracie & it took a little while until I could. His scent filled the room, such a sweet smell, was just how Gracie smelled when she was born. How do babies come out smelling so wonderfully sweet?

After getting poked & cleaned up a bit, he's resting, he's a chilled out little guy it seems. Look at these big boy hands.

Got his foot print.

Finally in mama's arms. Here's here, finally here, such sweet relief. Thank you, Lord for such an incredible birth & incredible little baby boy.

He was so hungry, crying on & off.

Todd and I couldn't get over how much he resembled Gracie.

Gracie had her hands on her face also when she was born making little noises.

Opening his eyes, looking around the room & up at me. How sweet.

Here's daddy, he was taking all the photos, ooing and aawing over this little man.

He was incredibly hungry, sucking on his hand. I finally got to feed him after this photo & he was very happy. He had a power suck right away, it was really quite funny.

The sunrise on his birthday, the view as we're being wheeled into our recovery room.

Belly Belly! 36 weeks

Baby Shower - Jan 30

This shower was at mi casa, organized by my sister, my mom, Kailee & sweet friends. Here we are, Zach & I, everyone's about to arrive. :)

The big sister

Enjoying the decor

Having a daddy & daughter date night! I have to say it was so cute when daddy saw a rip in Gracie's jeans that he had to go put his ripped jeans on so they matched! They went to Chili's & he said she was an angel & she crawled under the table & snuggled right up to him. They talked, he even let her make a salt mound!

I've never seen so much thought put into just the food alone! Early in the pregnancy I craved hamburgers, there was a one week mission to get satisfied by a hamburger. Todd says we have to go to Five Guys! So we went & they were awesome, and it cured the hamburger hunt! So they got Five Guys burgers & cut them for appetizers. I also always crave boneless chicken wings & they got those from Chili's. Then they had my favorites like chocolate potato chips, these tarts with fruit my mom makes, chocolate & peanut butter cake balls. Stephanie made a cake and friends brought food, like Katie's famous dip, and Rachel's chocolate cups, it was all so yummy.

A board my sister made of family/friends out of town & sent photos/messages for the shower. Words can't express how much that meant, of course I was crying before the party even started! Thank you! Everyone enjoyed reading it.

Game time, Kailee had the cutest game, a gift was wrapped 10 trillion times & we had to pass it around & do what each layer said. Here she's putting on the bib because her layer said she's the baby!

Stephanie had to suck on a pacifier!

Barbara's turn!

Dana & Barbara - my 2 cul-de-sac buddies - Barbara is a nurse & had to actually bandage Dana's boo boo

Baby was hungry so I had to go feed her

Uh oh, baby has a dirty diaper, Mom had to change it blind folded in 30 seconds, she's a pro!

Katie & Kim (my weigh down teacher)

Back row - Kailee & Sara ~ the girls with the creative flair that made my house look so beautiful! With the poof balls, lights, decor & candles
Middle row - Katie, Kathy - my mom, Dana, Jaime, Leslie, Stephanie & Rachel
Sitting in front - Barbara & Kim
I love all these ladies & it was really such a special night, thank you for celebrating!

Gracie in her brother's new hamper

Okay so Kailee is officially taller than us now!! And I have preggo nose, that's okay though, that's just God's sense of humor about pregnancy in some of us, I guess!

Baby Tea Party - Jan 9

This tea party was from the play group moms in our play group at an English Tea House. Had fresh tea, little pastries, tea sandwiches & soup. It was so fun & perfect for the cold day we had.

First game everyone had to draw a picture of a baby on top of their heads on a paper plate.

Meaghan & Barbara

I had to choose a winning baby that I thought looked most like Zachary! I loved them all, they were so "unique" but I loved that this baby had fingers & toes, a smiley face & hair.

The cake was delish.

They were all so sweet, got some really cute things for him. Tonie in the background.

Back at the house, Todd was watching Gracie & Sophia so her mom, who organized the shower could be there! They had lots of fun.
