It is a blessing to be a human jungle gym!

Tonight, among MANY sweet nights but I just felt I had to write. These two are just THE funnest, funniest kids. I just love them so much. I'm sitting on Gracie's bed and Gracie's bringing me books to read, so I tell Zachary to bring me some because he's really into books, too. So he goes to the book shelf & brings me Clifford. He's so excited. His favorite book as of last week is The Eye Book, which was Gracie's first all time favorite book, she'd request it all the time, and so does he. This wasn't anything learned by her because she's not as into it at 5, she still likes it and all.
So we're reading and then he's like "NNN, NNN" because that means he wants to nurse, so he nurses for about 2 seconds because he's really over it, he just won't admit it. He's a busy dude but he's still my baby. He gets this idea to sit next to me and start blowing zerberts, however you spell that, and he has done this many times before but tonight he kept giggling the cutest giggle after and these zerberts were so farty, no wonder he was giggling so hard. Gracie started in and we just had fits of giggles. They are amazing little people.
We were about to say prayers and I said, let's pray to God, and he said "Gaaa" and then starts singing his "Hallelujah" song, and looking up. I was in awe, when he sings Hellelujah he gets so into it like he means it, it's precious.
Well I got interrupted, Todd was on the phone outside talking & it woke up Zachary, he was in there screaming, so I got to rock his sweet tush to sleep. He is a doll.
When I see a baby part of me wants another, but part of me just feels like it went too fast with Zachary and can't believe he's really coming out of being such a baby.
He's a little parrot, this morning Gracie was sharing her silly bands and they are cats, so he said "Kitty cat!" He says "buck" for his buckle in his high chair, which is a constant cycle of him crying, I say "what do you say?" "PEEZE!" I unbuckle and he's so excited jumping in his seat and can't wait to buckle it back, then it goes all over again until I say okay we gotta get out dude, let's go play.
We were feeding our friends turtles and fish so he says TURTLE now, which is so stinkn' cute. He says PARK,and "BUG G G G G G" he loves to pronounce that G over and over.
Gracie is so big, a giant really. She is at the point now where I'm asking, were you really that baby I vaguely remember? Were you really a baby? Gosh, it doesn't make any sense. Her legs are never ending. They are Todd's legs, I just love watching them walk together, it's so cute, they are shaped exactly the same.
She loves her brother. She's always asking to check on him when she thinks he should be waking up in the morning or from his nap. She is very mothering or just likes to be a little boss, probably both, but she has the best of intentions with him. They play and laugh so well together. He LOVES her, too. His eyes just light up when she enters the room. He is the most affectionate with her, gives so many kisses and hugs and they snuggle. I think it's so special they have each other.

So I will close at this for now, there is so much I could say, but all in moderation with all things, I have got to get some organizing done around this house, I'm almost done, little by little.
I need to write on our family blog more often, everything is worth writing about, but it's hard work being a mama and some days it is enough to keep everyone happy & fed & I can't say clothed because they don't really care about wearing clothes around here. :)

Zachary-10 mts Shelby-5 Gracie-4.5

This month went by fast, every day we soaked in & did something special for Christmas. We started out by making our Coniferous Forest & decorating them together. Every tree was a day, using it as our Advent Calendar, so every day Gracie couldn't wait to find the date & look under the tree.

While making the necklaces, she kept poking her finger with the needle, so she made up her own trick & then said, "watch mommy, see, you do it like this." She put her popcorn on the table, stabbed it with the needle and then fed it through, clever! I said, "well you are the next Martha Stewart!" Her reply, "you can say THAT again!" :)

12 - Made reindeer pancakes for breakfast!
13 - Made a Gracie & Zachary snowman with ice!

9-19-2010 - Sweet Siblings & updates

Today Gracie wants to purchase everything under the sun at Joann Fabrics, pumpkins, eye lashes, spools of thread, yarn because cats like yarn (we don't have a cat) every roll of fabric she touched because it's oh so pretty, finally as we're leaving I let her get a piece of candy.

Tonight at dinner she tells us very polite but matter of fact "You guys want your own ways. Daddy wants his own way and mommy wants her way." I ask, "What do you mean?"

She says "Well I wanted to buy LOTS of things today and you just don't want to buy ANYTHING!" me - "If we purchased everything you saw & liked we wouldn't have a house to live in!"

She loves her brother so much...

...gives him puppy kisses now which is huge! Hugs him like crazy and started pulling him up off the floor by his onesie, yikes! Four year olds, you gotta watch them, still too young for some things but old enough to think they are old enough to do things. The latest, the other night he was sitting on our bed, she was throwing my clothes all around him in a pile, then doing cannon balls on top of the clothes in front of him, he's screaming hysterically in laughter at her, with huge eyes thinking she is THE coolest sister EVER! It was hilarious, the more she did it the more he laughed & squealed. I had the best time watching them.

She plays hide & seek behind the couch and he waits for her with huge eyes with great anticipation.

EVERY time she jumps he jumps & jerks and his whole body tweaks, and he has the HUGEST smile and bright eyes just beaming at her. The SWEETEST thing to watch.
He never gets dull or bored of her doing this, just screams & laughs every time she pops up. She roars at him all the time now, he almost wants to cry in panic but then realizes it's her and then it's okay, he accepts it from her, so then he laughs and is fine, if it came from anyone else I know he'd cry because it scares the pee out of him every time I'm sure!

He is THE cuddliest, loviest baby.

I can't believe, he grabs my hair and pulls me to his face, his mouth wide open lunging forward at me and getting his goo all over my cheeks, mouth, whatever he can kiss, it is so stinkn' adorable. I know he gives me kisses because when I was sick last week and wouldn't kiss him, he literally after two attempts to lunge forward with an open mouth and I moved so he'd plant one on my cheek, he started crying and getting fussy and then wouldn't nurse. WOW! And a few days ago I asked him to give mama a kiss and he went right for me & opened his mouth every time. I tell him to give sissy a kiss and he goes for her and of course she freaks and covers herself, but now she'll sort of let him if we get her cornered somewhere, oh he loves to give her kisses, he is so passionate and affectionate.
LOVES to be gotten by daddy! Oh my goodness, the best laughs come from daddy tickles.

But watch out when he's hungry or wants something, he cries, pitches a fit and gets angry. And the way he says MAMA when he's upset, he means now! He's not messn' around. I start to visualize a teenager in the house upset, Mom! Yikes, not good. But it's okay when he's a baby. Cracks me up.

He's rolling over both ways, sitting up so good. Eating puffs & whatever else he can get his hands on really well, feeding himself.

He doesn't want any baby food or homemade baby food, it's delicious, but he wants everything cooked & cut up into pieces. So he eats whole black beans, avocados, cheerios, bread, has had pizza crust a few times, spanish rice, beef & chicken shredded, graham crackers, nectarine and pears, bananas not so crazy about but tolerates, loves little pancakes. He's in charge, he likes to hold something or feed himself.
Chipotle is a great fit!

Zachary's Birthday!

Zachary William Field
Feb 21st 2010 at 4:18am ~ 8lbs 5oz ~ 20.5 inches
Here he is! His arrival was so mellow. At 4am everyone is pretty quiet...except for his sweet little cry!

The nurse had some work to do, because the labor went so fast, he was filled with fluid & as she was suctioning it out, he was sucking it back in, she couldn't believe it! I was a little let down that I wasn't able to hold him right away like I was with Gracie & it took a little while until I could. His scent filled the room, such a sweet smell, was just how Gracie smelled when she was born. How do babies come out smelling so wonderfully sweet?

After getting poked & cleaned up a bit, he's resting, he's a chilled out little guy it seems. Look at these big boy hands.

Got his foot print.

Finally in mama's arms. Here's here, finally here, such sweet relief. Thank you, Lord for such an incredible birth & incredible little baby boy.

He was so hungry, crying on & off.

Todd and I couldn't get over how much he resembled Gracie.

Gracie had her hands on her face also when she was born making little noises.

Opening his eyes, looking around the room & up at me. How sweet.

Here's daddy, he was taking all the photos, ooing and aawing over this little man.

He was incredibly hungry, sucking on his hand. I finally got to feed him after this photo & he was very happy. He had a power suck right away, it was really quite funny.

The sunrise on his birthday, the view as we're being wheeled into our recovery room.
